every cloud....

today has been a strange ol' day. on the downside i haven't even been able to take holly out for a stroll and i got wet not once, not twice, but three times..

however, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining and it has been an incredibly productive day, design and order wise.

i have been working on a bespoke baby shower range of invitations, had a fabulous order from a glamorous couple in jersey as well as lots of new every day orders and am still working away on the "to do list" for the new venture, violet and lily.

pictures and more details to follow this fine week, this cloud has to get some rest.

i also happened across these little beauties in a boutique in derby today by almost famous of london...if only the sun would come out to play, they would be perfect for painting the town red (or green or gold...)

ok ok, so its a bff's wedding in three months and i have been agonising over an outfit and i think a saviour bearing the names jimmy choo and temperley are my outfit angels.

unpleasant experience with a web cowboy

well....today was always going to be hectic, meetings in birmingham and design deadlines, but what i did not expect was to have a full blown confrontation with my web developer, which was a new collaboration.

the developer in question, andrew warwick, www.warwicka.co.uk, since taking on the project of my site has consistently missed deadlines, not answered calls, failed to attend meetings and deliver any output over the past few months, despite taking my money "to secure" his dedication to the project.

i am having problems uploading his response to my asking for confirmation of deliverables, surely an everyday occurrence for us small business types? which ended in him rather gentlemanly telling me to "foxtrot oscar". how business like.

even without the insulting expletive, if i ran my business for a day how he manages his generally, i would not have a business.

anyway over to the smith partnership solicitors to sort this out for me.

lesson learnt? trust your instinct and don't do business with anyone whose eyes are too close together.

desiderata

i totally love desiderata, my gran used to have it hanging in her house and always reminds me of reading it when i was young and trying to make sense of all of the meanings.

when i read it now i am whisked away to a more innocent age, surrounded by familiar smells, love and warmth.

my gran remains to be one of my great inspirations and in quiet times i think of desiderata and wanted to share a bit of my nostalgia with you.
